BrookLex offers five services to Ontario property owners, from a single assessment appeal to an annual review of an entire portfolio. Every service starts with the same question: what does MPAC’s own valuation data say about your property.
Assessment appeals
Board representation from the first filing to the hearing, when your assessment needs to be challenged directly. Learn more.
Request for Reconsideration
The MPAC step before the Board, and when it is worth taking. Learn more.
Tax refunds and rebates
Relief under sections 357 and 358 of the Municipal Act for damage, demolition, vacancy or a change in use. Learn more.
Income and expense returns
Help with MPAC’s Property Income and Expense Return, which becomes evidence about your property whether or not you plan to appeal. Learn more.
Portfolio reviews
An annual check of every roll number you own, so nothing is missed. Learn more.
Each service can stand on its own, or work together. A portfolio review often turns up a property that needs an appeal or a Section 357 or 358 application. A Property Income and Expense Return filed carefully in the spring can become the evidence behind an appeal filed later in the year.
Not sure which service fits your property. Start with our guide to how an appeal works, check the key dates that apply to you, review our fees, or contact us for a review of your assessment.
